I have been itching to make a new body scrub since my favorite coffee version ran out. Each and every ingredient in this recipe is great for your skin, even pumpkin! Who woulda thunk it. It soothes, gently exfoliates and smells absolutely delicious. You could even eat it if you use olive oil as your carrier oil, but I’d recommend sticking to good old pumpkin pie because it smells better than it tastes, ha!
Use a food processor or coffee grinder to blend all of your dry ingredients ( oatmeal, spices and sugar ). This step is mostly to break up the oatmeal into more of a powder but it also serves to blend your spices throughout to ensure some spice in every scoop! Blending the sugar makes for more of a gentle scrub so you can use it all over your body.
In a separate mixing bowl, stir to combine your wet ingredients ( pumpkin puree, oil ) with your dry ingredients. Spoon mixture into your chosen container whilst trying not to eat it! It can easily be split up into these smaller jars to give away to friends or family. They’ll love ya.
Instructions for use: Scoop out a small amount with clean, dry hands. Massage into skin and rinse well. Since this recipe has perishable ingredients, use within two weeks or store in fridge and it will last a lot longer. Enjoy!
